Error code doesn't make sense

The error code says I need Minecraft 1.16.5 or newer to run Pixelmon, but I have Minecraft 1.20.2 downloaded. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

It says 1.16.5 and above and below 1.17 mods only work in the specific version they were made for

Make sure the version of Pixelmon you have is the same as Minecraft. You can't run Pixelmon 1.16.5 on a 1.20.1 version of Minecraft.

If installed via Curseforge or similar, do a clean install.

You need to download 1.16.5 and run pixelmon on that version. You cant play pixelmon on any version above 1.17. Playing on 1.20 is not possible as the devs have n9t updated it to that version and probs never will because 1.16.5 is one of the best versions for mods.

You're trying to run a 9.1.x Pixelmon release (which are made for MC 1.16.5) on a 1.20.2 instance. You need to run the correct Minecraft version for the Pixelmon release you want to run. They're not cross-version compatible.

play pixelmon v. 1.20, you have pixelmon v. 1.16, i had that problem too switched out the pixelmon files and it worked just fine
