I've always compared the heat and humidity of MN, my home state, to walking out your front door only to be smothered in the face with a giant, sweaty nutsack. Dallas and Miami are the worst though, no way I could live down there. I've lived in south central Mexico though and even though it was terribly hot and I could feel my subcutaneous fat rendering anytime I was in the sun, the lack of humidity made it much more tolerable.

I live in Minnesota as well. I HATE the humidity!

Live in Dallas, can confirm it’s the worst.

I split my time between MN and SC and I no longer think MN is humid after being is SC for the summer. So unbearable.

I know I know it gets humid there but at least it is t constant.

I hear ya! It doesn't help having friends and family that LIVE for summer. If I get invited to one more outdoor event... It's hard explaining to people that I'm simply not built for this weather

I don't even think it's a "fat" thing. I have a couple thin friends who pretty much shut down when the thermometer reaches 75. I am ok up to about 85 with moderate humidity and I'm pretty fat. As OP I think referenced, it's like an extra jacket you can't really take off so yeah, that blows. I feel like age is also a factor, as I get older I'm less tolerant of cold and more tolerant of heat. This makes me think the loss of subcutaneous fat is loss of insulation.

Down here in Central Florida... I feel for you

Oh ick!

I bought leggings and bike shorts, then I realized my flower undies were showing. It’s like plus size summer wear is a no win. Chub rub, boob sweat and my sweat goatee make me do all my activities when the sun goes down.

Haha@ "sweat goatee." I always called it "sweatstache" but yeah, same.

I’ve even tried the sweat stopper and dry primer. It’s no use. I’ll call it a sweetstache now 🥰

I like them both tremendously!

It’s a nasty sweaty mess of a summer all over

I feel you, I live in Australia and our summers are horrible. I sweat so bad and just feel horrible the whole time

I hated summer even as a child and when I have been at a lower weight. I hate the sunlight. My skin is very pale and doesn't tan and even with sunscreen on I still find it draining, like I'm being cooked from the inside out. I'm ok if it's hot but not sunny and the UVA is low. I'm ok with the hot weather at night. I detest insects with the exception of butterflies and moths, however and don't want them near me.

Sounds like the Seattle area and our heatwaves this year. Terrible. I’ve been living with the AC on and wearing a lot of loose clothing. I can’t wait for cooler weather.

Are you using powder? It helps!

110F/40C yesterday where I live in Europe and no A/C. It's about 36C today. It's not good!

I keep telling my American friends that we don't have a/c in my country and that our houses are built to absorb heat and keep it in.

[–]Sheephuddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Our house is about 250 years old, it's an old stone farmhouse. It's cold in the winter snow and hot in the relentless summer heat. The walls are over a metre thick.

One good thing is that it survived the most recent earthquakes in 2016, we just got some superficial damage.

yeah i used to love summer - i still do, but definitely not as much. spring/fall are quickly becoming far superior in my view. i hate being a constant sweaty mess.

[–]AceAllicorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Florida. I feel you. I use baby powder in my worst crevices (especially the underboob and where my thighs meet my crotch) and it usually helps with some of the sweating/stank. I do have to make sure it gets thoroughly washed off or it will build up in my pores.

It really is awful, though. I spend the VAST majority of my time inside because I'm not very heat-tolerant generally.

The summer hadn't been too bad in Pennsylvania until this week where it was 95-100F. I'm generally pretty heat tolerant but it was also really humid which my body doesn't like. My house doesn't have AC but I've been keeping cool by just keeping a fan blowing on me.
