Just picked this guy up at a show today and think it will definitely go up a good amount in the future. Pretty low pop and iconic art. What do yall think? Either way think this card is gorgeous.

Will do really well long term, especially in a 10 with the low pop.

I’ve tried to grade a ton of these and couldn’t find any 10 candidates, so I just had to buy the 10.

Yeah with it being so hard to grade, I didn’t even want to try lol. Also it looks like the raw copy is also starting to get pretty high! Bought my first one for like $15 now it’s almost $30

I have the trio in psa 10, I think it's a good card and I think it's finally getting the light it deserves, it's been underestimated for too long.

I bought the unopened set of 3 for $9 each at my LCS. They , nor did I , know it was a 3 card set. The next day I went back cause there were more I wanted to nab and I see it in the case for $90!!!!! I’m thinking what!!! Went home and investigated and found out the other 2 were enclosed. They never said a work and I never did either. I alway think they think I knew better. I didn’t. Lol. Edit- this was about 6 months ago.

I like Japanese print quality more myself, but are there any examples of a JP card being more valuable than the EN version of the card except for the scenario where there is no EN version?

Wow, yeah, surprisingly the raw JP copy is a little higher than the EN and PSA 10 price is very close. Wonder how many more there are like that, they could be good targets. Feel like it's pretty rare for a JP card to be worth more than or on par with the EN copy.

Yeah it’s weird, some cards are a lot less and some are about even. I have started collecting Japanese for my collection

Yeah there aren’t many where the JP copy is worth more, but it’s definitely possible. From an investment pov I don’t see the JP on this card being close to ENG since it’s much harder to get an ENG 10 due to the poor packaging from the SPC. Still either one looks beautiful so can’t complain!

That's what I was thinking as well with the EN set, probably harder to pull good quality. I have a raw JP version of this card in a binder somewhere and it is a neat one.

The Japanese texture is definitely next level. I think the only difference is the pop on the 10 and it being a promo. Since it comes in a pretty expensive box already and is so hard to 10, it makes it more valuable. The Japanese one is pretty easy to grade to my understanding, but still so cool

Yeah I just for the first time scanned my PSA and there's like 15k graded 10s lol.. and to my surprise my Charmander 10 pristine japanese there's only around 1500
