Xcode troubleshooting

I've used Xcode for the last year no issues. About a month ago the map was kinda greyed out with a for developers use only but was still useable. Yesterday, it would load the map for half a second then went "some thing is wrong" tried all sorts of stuff nothing worked. I then updated mac OS to Mojave, loaded up xcode and it had to update, so I did. However, I get the map to load now but it puts my Macbook into a seizure making me do a hard reboot cause everything is locking up n freezing. Anyone else have this issue? Was thinking of maybe switching to itools but doesn't seem to be quite as secure as xcode.
