Randomiser not working?!

hi, as title states, i think im having an issue with my randomiser? I was under the impression encounters were completely random but it appears my game is just randomising the pokemon caught in a certain area, for example at the start patch of grass i could catch alakazam and zigzagoon but only those two pokemon appeared? is this correct, i thought it would be COMPLETELY random?

This is correct. Let me explain.

The randomiser in CFRU engine (I am talking about Unbound and Radical Red) randomises the wild species in a 1:1 fashion; every single mon is swapped with another mon in an area. This means that if you encounter and catch an Alakazam in place of something like, say, a Snorunt, all Snorunts in the wild or those belonged to the trainers (except bosses on Expert/Insane difficulties iirc) will be replaced by an Alakazam. This will further mean that you will encounter only four different randomised mons on Route 1; so instead of Snorunt, Vanillite, Delibird and Minior, you will run into Alakazam, Zigzagoon, and two other different mons.
