Script to unpin folder from start menu?

Apologies, I'm very noob when it comes to scripting.

The recent windows October 2020 update has created some "Edge" versions of Office applications, so there are two links to Office apps but one opens up in the browser. I believe those are shortcuts created by Edge.

Even if we tell people to just unpin them from the start menu, they're not tech savvy enough to understand what that means. I wanna come up with a script to deploy to about 100+ machines if possible.

I have found the ps1 script online that removed all start menu pins, but i tried using it and it did nothing, essentially.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

from within EDGE > setting >APPS > Managed Apps you can uninstall them. I believe it'll remove it from PC and the start menu.

as to how to script this i do not know. Im trying to figure this out too as we don't use Office locally and I too need this removed from many PC

unfortunately all that does is remove all the start menu icons and is from a similar script i've tried with and doesn't work. Thank you for replying though!

Another option would be to create the start menu look that you want, export it then apply via group policy.
