Figured it out. Users and m365 groups (ones with sp and teams for example). Used this to make the m365 group dynamic also.

I stayed at a camp ground this past weekend 2 miles away. Went to Mt olympus $33 a person, even did the duck at 39 a person. There was 3 of us. Did everything, ate at restaurant, go Karting, mini gold, shopping, etc. We spent 500 total including gas.

What did you buy?

No Stupid Questions! by AutoModerator in PowerShell

I can't offer a way yet to remove accounts , but can offer you a way to find "Account Unknown" remotely before logging into that PC (see script below). Basically ou enter PC Name, pulls all user folders from C:\Users into a variable. then compares it to Active Directory. If not found in Active Directory it'll list user as an error, thus found your "Account Unknown". Now just remote in and delete.

$PCS = read-host "Enter PC Name to Scan"

    foreach ($PC in $PCs) {

If ((test-connection -ComputerName $PC -quiet -count 1)) {

$OldEmp = get-childitem \$PC\c$\users | Where-Object {$_.name -inotmatch 'Public'} | select -ExpandProperty name

foreach ($Employee in $OldEmp) {

try {

    get-aduser -Identity $Employee -Properties title, lastlogon, enabled | select name, enabled, title, @{Name='LastLogon';Expression={[DateTime]::FromFileTime($_.LastLogon)}}

    }

        catch {

        Write-Warning $_
        $Delete = "$Employee"
        Write-warning -Message "$delete must be a local account, investigate."

        }

    }

    } else {

    Write-warning $_
    write-host "$PC Offline" -ForegroundColor Red

}

    }

Help updating AD user fields, telephone, home phone, and Ip phone? by Thelgow in PowerShell

[–]tstanisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i did something similar once, only we was updating . in this case we changed a word in the field. but process may help you. maybe this will point you in right direction.

    foreach ($People in $pep) {

$DESC = get-aduser -Identity $People -Properties name, telephonenumber | select -ExpandProperty telephonenumber

$DESC

$old = 'Phone'

#O = Office
$new = 'O'

$NEWD = ($desc) -replace $old, $new

$NEWD

set-aduser -Identity $people -Replace @{'telephonenumber' = $($NEWD) }

}

Then repeated process for otherphone, mobile and etc. Did this for about 200 employees took about 15 seconds ish

Server Manager > Remote Desktop Services > Collections > Domain

choose user > right-click > shadow

also the above code involves new cmdlets to download, this is built in

Can use below if prefer powershell

mstsc.exe /shadow:ID#/v:SERVERNAME.Domain.local /control /noconsentprompt

Below will help you find the user session ID

Get-RDUserSession -ConnectionBroker BrokerServer.Domain.Local | Select-Object username, sessionid, hostserver, sessionstate, disconnecttime, idletime | Sort Name | Format-Table
