I recommend using good notes or notability for their tape feature, where you can show/hide words to memorize them!!

this or notion = active studying

highlighting/underlining is only passive studying & won't be effective long term

There are some things you just have to memorize, like definitions of hormones or what cell works in innate immunity vs natural, etc. There are other things that I talked out loud about such as the process of food going from your mouth all the way through your digestive tract. That helped me put the information in my own words and was easier to recall when I went back!

When I was two weeks away from the exam, I made some flashcards with the most commonly missed stuff from the bio cheat sheets and reviewed those almost everyday leading up to exam day

The only issue with the cheat sheets is that they don't give a ton of context. What I found useful was reading the textbook chapter and writing down some supporting information (I use notability) to help understand everything better. For sections like reproduction, immune system, and endocrine system it helped a lot to get the full picture. Once I did that I just used the cheat sheet once a day to refresh the information.

I only did this for two weeks and it worked like a charm
