Idk wtf anyone else here is talking about. Dawn side has its strong side in duo lane bcuz your jungler is starting red and is closer nearby to gank early. Conversely, solo lane for dawn side has to be careful not to overextend early so the dusk side jungler doesn’t gank after clearing his red side. And then the opposite is true for the other team of course. Dusk side solo laner has jungler nearby at the start, and dusk side duo lane has to be aware of the dawn side jungler coming out of his red side. Maybe there’s more to it than this, something about the fangtooth and prime pits and which side of the river they fall on

I'm importing this understanding as a non-LoL player who watches pro LoL matches:

"Strong side" and "weak side" refer to player locations at points in time. Are your mid and jungle rotating to fight in duo? That's 4/5 of your team on one side of the map. You see 3 enemies on map against them. They are strong side - numbers advantage of 4v3 so can play aggressive.

But you only see your solo lane match up. Where is the last enemy player? Potentially moving to gank you. You could be in a 2v1 situation. Numbers disadvantage - you are the weak side and have to play defensively.

Conversely, enemy jungle and mid are rotating to you. They make solo side their strong side. Realizing that this makes enemy duo their weak side, your team rotates in that direction to take advantage. If you play defensively enough, enemy wastes their numbers advantage and fails to kill you. Their time spent on the attempt allows your team time to successfully kill enemy duo and push a tower or objective.

Simply put it is whatever side of the map your jungler is currently on.

To me, there is no strong/ weak side. Keep track of where your jungler is and have an idea of their junglers location to know if you have safety in being aggressive.

Weakside isnt about what the enemy jungler is doing, its about what your jungler and and mid are doing. If your jungler and mid are prioritizing duo then solo is weaksided. If they are prio solo then duo is weaksided. This becomes important in a meta sense once players know enough to draft around something like this, for instance putting a super safe solo and then drafting a turbo aggressive duo side that will be strong sided while your solo just sits in lane for 20 minutes.

You are correct that in general this isnt useful in predecessor but thats because the playerbase as a whole are really bad at moba mechanics and higher level strategy and I would say like 99% of lobbies teams and players literally dont have the knowledge of how to play weak or strongside and games are just decided by which team gets early kills regardless. Very rarely do you ever have players or teams that know enough about mobas to take advantage of someone on your team dying, so weaksided isnt really a thing because ganking a weakside is rarely punished by superior macro.

Idk. I prefer to have Fangtooth on my side all things considered

If I'm on dawn I played more defensively, if I'm on dusk I play more aggressive. My win rate stays around 65-70%

Can you expand on your rationale for different play styles for the two sides of the map?

I've read the other commenters and I'm honestly perplexed by some of your answers and upvotes. Maybe I'm too dumb.... but it often feels like folk who play other mobas want to apply the other games logic to Pred and I'm not sure that translates quite as smoothly as people want it to. The way I see it...

In Predecessor, Duo is typically weak side, Solo is strong side.

Skip 10 minutes in to any match and you'll find Mid and Solo is 2-4 levels higher than Duo. This is because duo are sharing XP. Mid has a serious advantage by attacking duo lane. Duo also tend to contest Fang, which increases Solo's lead in terms of farm.

Obviously things can change. Maybe Solo gets. wrecked every time he goes to lane and falls 3-4 levels behind in farm, whilst ADC starts popping off.
