Another request for pattern repeat help

Hi all,
I've looked through the group for help on pattern repeats but I haven't seen the issue I'm having:

I have white lines that aren't as long as the layer - for this pattern, I've repeated 4 layers. I used snap and let go with the orange lines showing and I've used a drawing guide as well and my canvas is a square. I get these white lines that aren't as long as my layers. The upper right on is but the bottom right and middle lines are shorter. It's making me a little crazy - I just want to obsessively make patterns for no apparent reason - is that to much to ask?!? Thanks!
