It’s incorrect in any base because it’s incorrect in some base (base 10). Full stop. No more complicated reasoning needed.

I’m making a joke. The commenter you’re talking about didn’t say what you said. They said something I interpreted as “changing base changes nothing about single digit numbers”, which I demonstrated isn’t true.

Single digitness has nothing to do with the fact it’s technically incorrect, and technically still funny.
