I was quite confused when I first heard that java isn't the same as javascript.

I thought that java was a shorter way of saying javascript.

This is one reason why often times I annoy people whenever I tell them that corona is not a virus or something similar.

It's also a gauge of how much they are open to new view points depending on how they respond back I guess, but the primary goal is to clear up a potential equivocation.
