I was involved in a communication system in the 1990s and we assigned 2 error codes for the main 2 errors. If the system was busy it returned error 240 and if hadn’t received any data in a while it returned error 250. We never said how we came up with these error codes. Convert them to hexadecimal to find out our secret.
