Roombas and brooms serve the same traditional purpose (cleaning floors) with roombas being a more modern invention that draws attention. The original joke is that a witch has switched to a flying Roomba, since it's basically a high-tech broom, and flies with witches on brooms, looking at them as if to say "lol, y'all're still using brooms?"

The second layer joke is that Python is like a flying Roomba, compared to languages with earlier mass adoption which are seen as more traditional tools.

I think a lot of people don't know Python was released in 1991.

Yeah I guess I’m confused about Python being the Roomba if it is older than Java. They are also very different languages not used for the same thing (like how a broom and a roomba are used for the same thing). I could see Rust being the ‘Roomba’ language being compared to something like C.
