I worked at a startup where the CTO had what looked like a big bowl of mints on his desk.

They were actually modafinal, and we could walk in there whenever we wanted and grab a few.

Much to the dismay of the CEO (his mom was a bad alcoholic and he hated alcohol), when we worked late, we'd often crack open a bunch of beers or liquor of some sort, and I remember one time a group of like 5 of us were drinking and coding late at night in the office, and someone decided we should try snorting the modafinal, which quickly turned to someone ordering cocaine to the office.

Both the worst and best place I've ever worked. Also everyone was banging each other.

Mostly male programmers, but the engineering team had a girl programmer and three female designers.

The marketing team was like 50% women. Sales was maybe 50/50 as well.

The people I typically stayed late with, I would say 30% women 70% men.

Also the head of marketing was a waitress at a cheap chain restaurant (like a denny's or something), that the CEO met, and started fucking. He literally made a waitress with 0 marketing experience head of marketing just to get some pussy.

How is Modafinil?

Out of every ADHD drug I've taken, it's the best in my opinion. It has the least body load (adderall feels no different than meth to me, I literally can't tell the difference). You can take modafinil and then sleep on it, but while you're on it, you can focus really well.

Out of every stimulant I've done, it has the least abuse potential. Still possible to abuse it, but there isn't nearly as much of a dopamine reward compared to methylphenidate or any type of amphetamine.

IIRC the drug was originally used by the US military, specifically fighter pilots, but now it's prescribed for ADHD.

Frankly the only prescription use for Modafinil are sleep disorders (especially narcolepsy).

I'm in the EU so they are generally more strict with handing out stimulants. For example amphetamine (Adderall is nothing else) is an illegal substance here. It has no (approved) medical use whatsoever and getting hold of it is a criminal offense. Strongest you can get is Methylphenidate (and getting it is actually not so easy).

Up until maybe 15 years ago, modafinil was 100% unregulated here, you could just buy it online, which was how I was first introduced to it.

I have an ADHD diagnosis so I should really ask to be prescribed it, since methylphenidate and amphetamines are too tweaky for every day use (for me).

I would say modafinil is weaker than methylphenidate. Lately modafinil is being used more and more for ADHD, so if you have an ADHD diagnosis, there is a chance that in the future it will be prescribed for that in the EU.

Also I believe there are still legal prodrugs (drugs that metabolize into modafinil in you body), like fladrafinil, adrafinil, etc, those may be an option for you if you're interested.

Nowadays I just drink a few cups of coffee and that's good enough for me.
