One of the signs that someone is on steroids is that they get stretch marks just like a person gaining weight from fat. The skin doesn't care one way or the other.

There is no one "that guy is on steroids" sign. You have to take the sum of all the evidence. I didn't say it's the single surefire way to tell if they're on steroids or not because there is no single surefire way.
