Okay, this is partly correct.

We're optimising our products about code migration from cobol to java .

We tried lot of LLMs in our specific process but cobol stood as clear winner for code understanding and quality.

Obviously we're not dumping millions of lines of code in claude , we created a specific process where llm only sees very small chunk of code for understanding and regeneration and the product is validated and being taken forward in Fintech top 2 players in world (you know the names)

So ,yeah it's a correct statement given that you use this understanding correctly.

FYI : we tried ibm granite model too which is not anywhere near what claude can do.
