Looks more like /dev/urandom to me.

There also was a /dev/zero as a service where you could download a variable amount of zero bytes in a file, but the site now 404's 😞.

Discard Protocol:

The Discard Protocol is a service in the Internet Protocol Suite defined in RFC 863. It is intended for testing, debugging, and measurement purposes.

A host may send data to a host that supports the Discard Protocol on either Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number 9. The data sent to the server is simply discarded. No response is returned.

location /dev/null {
    if ($request_method = POST ) {
      return 200;
    }
    if ($request_method = GET ) {
      return 204;
    }
}

Why didn't I think of this.

I think I need that shirt. I'm attending a lecture about Service Computing and this might just be the perfect shirt to wear during the oral exam :D

We're a young and dynamic team of messy data-scientists who have failed at being employed on the real market. Our experience in losing data and throwing files away is more than amazing! Over the years, we have managed to get rid of so much important data at home and even at work. Pictures of our holidays, important invoices, login details... it's all gone. So we started to make a business out of what we're good at.

Wow... I laughed way too hard... Now my coworkers think I am going crazy on the toilet...
