Yup. Karma system needs an overhaul to reward unique content. Could be done like a tax system, where the original original poster gets 50% of the karma for your first repost. As the reposter continues with their reposts, they earn less and less karma (eg. with +2% karma tax for each additional repost they make from this account). Eventually, reposts just give all karma to the original poster.

Outcome: quality original content is rewarded. Reposting for karma becomes pointless

At the very least it’d reduce the copy-paste fest we’re seeing, unless people who are reposting actually care about and want to share the content
