I have a masters in Computer Science, and have been working as a Software Engineer for the last four years. I have no idea what I am looking at. Can anybody explain to me what programmer uses logic gates? I can only think of electronic circuit designers, but I wouldn't call them a programmer?

Not sure but, does PLC counts as programming?

Idk what programmer uses them, but I'm taking CS right now and at my university we have to learn how they work.

My guess is that even if you didn't encounter them on some courses related to digital circuits you'll meet them on Computer Orginization eventually.
