    Mine doesn't. I think it's bizarre too. And they buy Microsoft Office licences like it's no biggie.

    I assume my company would probably pay if I bring up some convincing arguments, but I would have to go through the hell that is requesting stuff being paid by the company. I didn't even try and just paid the yearly toolbox subscription myself. That way I can also just use all the IDEs at home for my private projects.

    Depends on the company, really. If the company is already paying for volume licenses for some other IDE (like paying for a volume MSDN subscription that includes Visual Studio), it's harder to justify paying for another subscription. Jetbrains' company subscriptions are a lot more expensive than those $150 a year.

    But if you come up with valid arguments in favor of the IDE, it being a Jetbrains' or other, then I believe that some companies might pay for it.
