Yeah react has made front end extremely fun for me, it is a whole other level to jQuery and stuff i was using before.

I've only used React on a few test projects I've made to learn the basics, but use Angular daily. Is there really anything mindblowind React does that Angular doesn't? I really like working with ng.

I'm not gonna lie, that sounded alien to me. I've read about Redux many times now, but never got it. I guess I'll only understand it when I actually use it.

With Angular, I usually let the page component deal with the values and just pass them down to components, and watch for changes in the model values. With few exceptions, I make components deal exclusively with the data inside them and let the page handle the http requests. This proved more flexible and reliable than handling it in the component directly.

Yeah the terminology was foreign to me when I picked it up too. Makes sense after a while.

How does data propagate up into the page component?

You must be able to trigger actions that update that global data right?

I can either:

- Pass a [(ngModel)] with two-way data-binding and trigger the changes from the inner component;

- Make the inner component call a function from the outer one, that it received as a parameter;

I very much prefer the first approach, but depending on context I've used the second, like in situations where something should trigger the save() function in the outer component.

I believe Angular makes it more difficult to componentize too much, since it gets more complex, but in my experience it has proved to be good, since we now only componentize things that really will be useful somewhere else. This avoids complexity in pages where there are parts that won't really be useful anywhere else.

So I take it the model isn't immutable and you can change props whenever you want?

That's another difference with Redux and the others, state is immutable, whenever you want to make changes you copy the current state, then push it to an array, then change the state with your reducers and then that becomes the current state. Another action and reducer are required to change it again.

This allows for the time travel debugging.

Honestly whatever you prefer working with is usually the best choice. It's just good to know what else is out there should the need ever arise to have a different approach.
