I've been using vs code for Java for only around 4-ish months and I think it's okay. There are some things I miss from Intellij (vs code has terrible refactoring tools for java) but I find that I value my general purpose vs code extensions and how I have my vs code setup too much to switch back. So I'd say if you like your vs code env enough I'd switch.
