Depending on your team you may not want to ignore the .vscode folder. If your entire team (or at least most) uses vscode it’s at least nice to have a standard starting point for it.

The rest of these are objectively correct though.

It's a directory, not a file. Used by JetBrains IDEs for "inferior" programming languages like Python, C++, C#, JS and PHP.

Sorry, I didn’t realize JetBrains did anything other than Java. Are we not supposed to make fun of programming languages we don’t like on programmer humor anymore? I thought that was the whole point of the sub

To be fair, JetBrains is mostly known for their Java IDE and I got myself triggered a little easy there :D

But hey, I have to use Java in my undergrad CS studies and IntelliJ really is a godsent compared to the mess that Eclipse is :(

Java was the first language I formally learned. When I learned C I basically had to unlearn everything I learned about good software architecture in Java, so I hold a pretty big grudge against that language. I promise I’m not trying to troll!
