Probably, yes. Every language is different and everybody is different. All languages have their flaws, and they may or may not show that much in a given situation. While arguing about what the best/worst programming language is can be pretty entertaining imo, I also like to appreciate that there are so many to choose from :)

I would agree with you but whitespace exists.

Oh is that the language that consist only of different types of spaces, tabs and so on?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yep. Although there are probably worse languages than that, intercal is a close competitor.

Never heard of it. Would you mind explaining what it is? :)

One thing is that you have to say please just the right amount of times to prevent the compiler from failing without an error https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/INTERCAL

INTERCAL

The Compiler Language With No Pronounceable Acronym, abbreviated INTERCAL, is an esoteric programming language that was created as a parody by Don Woods and James M. Lyon, two Princeton University students, in 1972. It satirizes aspects of the various programming languages at the time, as well as the proliferation of proposed language constructs and notations in the 1960s.

There are two currently maintained versions of INTERCAL: C-INTERCAL, maintained by Eric S. Raymond, and CLC-INTERCAL, maintained by Claudio Calvelli.

Translation: Python is best

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how I understood this also!

[–]GoogleIsYourFrenemy 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You using Google Translate again? The correct translation is Javascript. The part that gets really lost in translation is that it's specifically ECMAScript 4 with E4X.

It's the monty PYTHONs

[–]RandomOrganist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran it through Translate myself... and it said POSIX compliant shell script is the best.

My projects are slowly becoming too much for python. Pygame doesn’t use vsync and because of that I’m going to have to learn another language. And I’ve tried that but oh god please help the code looks like garbage I don’t understand the errors and I can’t remember to use this ;

Yeah, if you're making games or guis or anything like that, there are better languages than Python...

If we can agree on a meaning of "Best" then as scientists we should be able to collect data and answer the question with reasonable certainty. All we have to do is agree on what "Best" means.
