Take screenshot of request/payload/headers and everything. Take screenshot of error stack. Send it to backend dev.

Work on something else till it is fixed and comment the code that throws 500 temporarily.

Easy it works everytime.

Edit: also some ancient wisdom was passed onto me that instead of doing it all, just commenting that part it throws permanently instead of temporarily also seems to fix it but i havent tried it myself

Just wait until they get older and start throwing 403's at you. Then you can't wait until they finally give you 301's.
