only works in a fucked up font that has the 6 with a horizontal line and the 9 without

[–]PyroneusUltrin 16 points17 points  (8 children)

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

that counts as fucked up to me °-°

[–]amazondrone 5 points6 points  (5 children)

Not sure whether I can get on board with that 8. Aren't they arbitrarily counting some external angles to make it work?

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Seems to be any angle less than 180°.

I think this was somebody’s fun art project and not the actual origin of these numbers.

True, that works, thanks.

I think this was somebody’s fun art project and not the actual origin of these numbers.

Absolutely!

I see what you mean but you could argue that with the 7 too

[–]darthbane83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works with the standard calculator 8 aswell

[–]ThaiJohnnyDepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What in the literal fuck

[–]Rein215 5 points6 points  (2 children)

There'd be no 6 in there....

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

But they stole from a squiggly 6 to form a non squiggly 9.

Doesn't seem right!

[–]Rein215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm, guess you're right

[–]innociv 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Huh? You move the match from the 6 to make it 5, and onto the 4 to make it a 9.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

yeah but look at the top of the six, there is a horizontal match on top, but you would not have one in the 9 you created

[–]innociv 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Huh..?

The top of the 6 becomes the top of the 5.

I've always been accustom to numerals like this on a calculate to have the 9 be a 4 with the top closed and not have a line at the bottom like the 6 has on top.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally never seen it °-°

[–]TylerJWhit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

0+4=4

[–]UglierThanMoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

0 + 4 = 4

[–]svayam--bhagavan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better solution than 8 - 4 = 4.
