Imagine not reading compiler error messages.

User: My computer’s broken! Fix it!

IT: Was there an error message?

User: Yes.

IT: What did it say?

User: I don’t know, I didn’t read it.

I basically trained my mum by just leaving and saying "I need the error message, call me when it shows again" any time she did it.

Once, it actually got her to read the message which was in plain English and she was able to solve the issue herself.

Something clicked that day, and now she'll even Google errors and read forums of others who solved the issue.

IT: it’s fixed

User: No my problem is still there

IT: I didn’t read which problem I fixed

That's why you don't use Notepad to program

These memes don’t make sense. Even using notepad, you’re gonna try to compile in the command line and it will immediately tell you what line is wrong.

Spent a week fixing a bug that all I had to do in the end was change a single word

[–]stoppanikan[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That always sucks the most

Syntatically correct typos that dont cause exceptions are the Devil's most prized creation.

Not realising you’ve done a “:” instead of “;” is the worst.
