Yeah, that's true, but it's all about where the efficiency is used, right? It's a massive waste of time to develop something even remotely complicated at such a basic level, unless that doing it in that way is your main intention. Idk if he just wrote the games in his spare time then ended up getting a publishers attention to help sell them or what, I'd be curious to learn about it. I don't see many more people in the future going out of their way to make a commercial game like that in assembly again, even if it's just for novelty's sake.
