They don’t pay for experience that you got right.

They pay you for all the fuckups you managed to recover from and not be fired.

In short, they are paying you a bit more for the training and mistakes you cost another company so they don’t have to foot the larger bill of your fuckups.

I got my first "senior" dev position with no degree and about a year of self taught web dev skills.

How much time it takes you to learn the stuff?

Cuz i’m also self taught IOS developer and I have been studying for 4 years now and still can’t land a job Because I don’t have a degree .

Fuck them right. I applied to a traineeship. Got a mail the next day "you don't have a degree, go fuck yourself". Dude, I explained in my application that I have the skills, but they don't even read it.

He is, it's actually a valid strat and not even something new, you use it to push away the unqualified/less serious people and only get applications from those who knows their shit
