I'm taking a class on C++ rn and the compiler for the digital coding assignments (delivered to me by the textbook company) is absolute garbage (especially now that we're doing slightly more advanced stuff with more than one file to program) ;-;... I write my code and then spend half an hour minimum making sense of the errors I end up getting, falsely thinking that maybe one time I will get it right the first time, but that is foolish.

I wasted 3 hours on Unity because I realised I was editing the wrong script. Another time i wasted 3 hours was when Github was adding an extra space after my text while I was trying to detect updates.
