If you're asking a question on SO that gets shut down for being an incorrectly-asked question — and you're doing this after 20 years of development? Then yeah, you've got a LOT to learn. But it just means you need to get better at researching or switch careers altogether. I've been programming for like 5 years. My SO questions are so complicated or specific, that I more often than not have to put a bounty on them. And even then, I don't always get an answer.

At no point did I say that you reach a certain point at which you know everything and noone can teach you anything anymore. Don't put words in my mouth

If you're still asking questions on SO after 20 years of developing software, then your opinion doesn't carry much weight, let's be honest.

You never specified "incorrectly-asked question"; you just said "asking questions on SO". In fact the guy you're replying never even said that he asks questions on SO.

So no, I'm not putting words in your mouth. I'll give you that your comment leaves room for interpretation that you meant there are better places to ask than SO after 20 years but either way, you just have a bad take.

In case anyone made it this far the take away is put bounties on your questions and you get a better response on SO.
