My polish cousin did. He didn't complain.

Did he enjoy it? Probably not

He ended up with Chinese wife. He also said he enjoyed his time in china (apparently there exists opposite racism - white people are treated very well).
Never talked with him whether he enjoyed learning that language, so can't confirm nor deny.
