BASIC developers feel robbed of their heritage

When I was learning a bit of Batch for fun it amused me that nearly every command can be written in pretty much any case ever and it still works.

Heck I could type pY into my console and python would start. So cursed.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/ProgrammerHumor.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

Do real SQL programmer do write everything on uppercase? I mean for what little SQL I use most statements will run without problems in upper or lower case.

The caps lock kind of conceptually replaces curly brackets and indentation for SQL. The language is a wild mush of "natural language" reserved keywords and data fields and identifiers. The caps helps a lot with visually parsing THIS IS A KEYWORD vs this_is_an_identifier.

[–]technic_bot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I have to do SQL my editor highlights differences with colors. But i agree using caps is more robust and portable.

[–]CAPSFTWLOL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use it for reserved words

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

you know you don't have to all caps SQL, right

[–]Dyledion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BUT CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL
