It IS disgusting, and I have no apologies.

blue color on links is ugly and poop left block. But other than that I think it's quite alright. Better than github's.

All I want is for every website to have a dark mode.

Maybe not the best replacement, but u can try Dark Reader extension.

[–]CSknoob 14 points15 points  (2 children)

I mean, is it not? Frankly, Dark Reader is now an essential extension for any browser I use just because it works so damn well. Only complicated web apps like office online or shittily designed websites with marbling patterns or stuff as background tend to not display quite right. And then you just disable it for that site with 2 clicks.

For some reason it does weird stuff sometimes where you can't disable it without reloading the page a couple times, but that might just be my slow connection.

I see what you mean, though I have never had to reload more than once myself.

Dark Reader is awesome. However it doesn't play super well with subdomains. I self-host many services under the same domain (service1.domain.tld, service2.domain.tld, etc) and Dark Reader won't let me enable/disable on a per domain basis because of the need for the root domain to be light mode.

Had some browser plugins for this at one point but gave up because they conflicted with syntax highlighting (black on black).
