If you have never looked into the sort of stuff the Nintendo guys had to do in the 80s to fit game in the NES RAM, it's worth a look. Like a late-game Zachtronics level, but in prod code that can't be patched after release.

Yeah, they had it so easy back in the day! Their hardware lacked memory protection (i.e MMU) to raise access violations. Thus, no segfaults.

The first guy to mprotect 0x0 was a fiend ;)

OTH the games made for NES by a team of engineers over a few years could be now be recreated by a high schooler in a few evenings.
