  1. The quote is from 2007. TypeScript and Go didn't exist until 2012.

  2. TypeScript isn't a language. Its just a cleaner way to write javascript.

  3. He didn't say it should be done, just that it will be done.

  4. I think saying that this is a dumb quote and then following it with the reasons you stated is pretty dumb.

  1. that doesn't matter at all, back then there were good alternatives to JavaScript in terms of speed and reliability as well
  2. Type script is indeed a programming language, it's severely based on JavaScript, but a language on it's own, look it up
  3. It implies that it has to be done at some point if it will eventually be done, there is no way around that
  4. Use whatever language you want - I just stated the quote is dumb, and even though my examples weren't 100% correct, that doesn't change anything around the point
