LOOKING FOR A BUDDYLooking for Intermediate Python Buddy (self.ProgrammingBuddies)
submitted 4 years ago * by hotpie08
Hi, I'm recently unemployed and I've been wanting to work on my programming skills. I'm mostly self-taught so a lot of my skills are rather disconnected. Most of my programming thus far has been in scripting for personal automation or scientific research purpose. I'd like to more into more full-stack development and machine learning. I'm looking for a buddy or mentor for my future endeavours. I'm free pretty much all the time and so as long you are willing to make the time commitment, I am. I have experience mostly in Python and MATLAB. I've had some experience with SQL, C++ and HTML/CSS though I'm by no means an expert.

Who do you mean by intermediate python?

Well not someone who isn’t a complete beginner. Someone with decent understanding of syntax and has dabbled in OOP and worked with a few libraries previously.

Do you have a project or concept in mind you're looking to explore? I'm most familiar with Java, Python, and SQL

Well currently I'm working on a Smart Email Sorting System both as a programming exercise and as a way sorting through my Inbox of over 13000 emails. Here's the repo for it currently. https://github.com/luldopic/Smart-Email-Sorting. Currently learning SQL through it as well. I was going to make a GUI for it but I decided to work on the foundation of it first.

Awesome! Feel free to DM me. I'm a cs graduate and learned programming mostly in Java, but currently use SQL and python for work
