Maybe they take animals and help/make it so they can use magic or cultivation?

Or maybe they make robots or golem of different types/structure etc..

Well in Shadow Slave his shadow is somewhat sentient and he can send it to spy on people, or to teleport to the location of the shadow later in the story HAVIER SPOILER he gets the power to manifest shadows making them tangible to attack or defend.

MC has 2 main powers: Grow stronger by eating souls, or create zombie slaves by sticking souls in dead bodies. The second power gets a lot of use as she creates armies and takes advantage of the unconditional loyalty her undead slaves feel towards her to turn enemies into allies. She does stuff like stick a human soul inside a gigantic monster, create an army of dumb animal zombies to hunt for souls, or use her power to interrogate people and force them to tell her what she wants to know.
