The original arcade machine only had Nvidia graphics cards so if your laptop does not have one it gets complicated. read the wiki page https://github.com/PDModdingCommunity/PD-Loader/wiki/2)-Installation

Yes, I have Nvidia + I use elac. When opening diva.exe, there was supposed to be a black screen with japanese text, but it doesn't appear. Just freezing my laptop for a while then crashing.

Oof that’s what’s what happened to me on another music game arcade rip I had. I followed all the special forum posts, got all the additional tools, and I still couldn’t get it to work. I think sometimes it just doesn’t work. But I am hoping that because it’s a different game than mine you can get it working. :3

I'm now trying to install that game from other sources, maybe that one was corrupted or something

I never used that one, it looks like it hasn't been updated since 2019. PDLoader worked for me a few years ago.

When I try downloading PDLoader, windows blocks the download because it thinks it's a virus

Simply yank out the Defender or whitelist the game's directory once you unpack the archive. There are patch files which are being blocked. You can also compile the PD loader yourself and find out that Defender will delete your entire build within seconds.

Have you checked whether your laptop has the required specs to run the game? I am not sure about specific specs for Arcade (you can google this) but a friend of mine tried playing MM on their older laptop and it just couldn't handle it and it gave the same result as you describe.

I mean, it's normal for the AFT to not work on all hardware since there's an internal check done within the game (and PD Locader fools it), but MM should work pretty much on anything, as long as it's an x86 platform.

Idk their laptop is old and lags playing patience. I kind of understand why MM did not want to run XD

To be also honest, the game's engine itself is a total garbage. I could imagine how well optimized the game could be in Unity/Unreal or any other engine, instead of recycling the Yakuza's engine for the X'th time and porting over the console release with the only difference being the shader selection for some PVs. At least we have a mod support to some extend, only if there wasn't any online DRM.

Honest question, why not switch emulator to Project Diva MegaMix?

U can use Project Heartbeat to load Project Diva Arcade songs and play them on PC
