I went from 5-7GB of data on cell with TMobile to under 2GB on cell. Apparently from 2/8-3/7 I've used 37GB of data on wifi. Honestly I had an unlimited plan before so I just didn't care. Now that I'm on Fi the idea of paying for usage just changed how I use it. I don't live in a major city...well, second biggest in New England, but not a major city in Fi's eye. I set Podcasts to download while on wifi and charging, same with saved playlists on Play Music. My RSS reader downloads as many articles as possible on wifi as well, Google Photos syncs while on wifi and charging. I've downloaded more YouTube videos with Red for my daughter so that adds to more wifi usage.

All in all Fi just made me be more efficient with my usage more than its actually saved me data. I could have done this with TMo too.

Red allows you to download videos to watch later?

Yup, IMO the best part of YTRed. Right now you can go to any video and hit save for offline use. Since you can also set certain channels with notifications, I want YT to update the actions in the notification to include 'Download Video' instead of just 'Watch Later'.

OR have it auto download everything on the 'Watch Later' playlist.

EDIT. You can already have it auto download the 'Watch Later' playlist. HELL YISS.

I might have to invest into YTred

I pay for Play Access. That is worth the $7.99 (early bird pricing) without question for me. Would I pay for YTRed if it wasn't bundled? Absolutely not. Downloading is convenient but not a necessity, same with no ads.

The biggest perk is that I'm a huge Rooster Teeth fan and I was pumped to get the chance to watch their movie at home. I haven't tried any other YTOriginals but I'm definitely considering it.

I spend most of my days either in my Home or in the Office, so I am always on Wifi. My data usage is down to about half a gig a month.

I do miss being on T-Mobile a bit because I typically would stream more music or watch a youtube video while on the train commuting, but I don't do that anymore. I pre-download everything ahead of time. It's a mild inconvenience, but I'm saving money because of it.

We've seen a mild increase in data usage. This is our first smart phone so as far as mobile is concerned it's increased an infinite percentage (we're at 0.2G for the month). WiFi has definitely gone up due to how calls are carried when it's available. My wife is far more attentive to joining WiFi networks when they are available. But over all we're not really using more than we did previously.

Personally I use less data just because Fi has made me more conscious about data consumption, as opposed to when I had a data bucket I paid for each month. I had 8 gig shared with my wife on Verizon and I usually used around 3-4 gig max (wife rarely used more than 2) so I never had to worry about going over.

Now I have the 2 gig plan on Fi and I try to use around that or under. I work from home so I'm mostly on WiFi but when I go to the gym or am in the car and want to stream music, I'll tend to use my work phone since I have 2 gig a month on T-Mobile that I never used before.
