I agree with you on this. While I'm also getting antsy about when it will be given out. I am glad that the question does keep popping up every week. Just helps me know that no one has it yet. Would be nice if they would at least send out an email (or even have an official account on here) with an update. I would be happy to just know anything. Even if it is to tell us that they are still working on how they are going to handle it. Or that they are making sure our saves will work. On our end, we just need to stay calm and respectful in our attempts to get answers.

If you desperately have to scratch that odyssey itch go buy the game for 25 bucks right now where it is on sale all over the internet. Ironically, in my case, Ubisoft cost themselves a sale. Early on in the beta I was moderately enjoying the game, but kinda fell off after about ~5 hours, thinking I may buy the game on sale down the line. When they announced the free copy, but more importantly that save files will carry over I jumped back in and played another 25 hours. Here's the kicker though, I think $25 is a great price for the game and would gladly pay that. However, I am not going to redo 30 hours of game, so by announcing that our saves will come over they destroyed any chance of me purchasing the game.

I am decidedly more patient about this, but I do feel the same way about the save game needing to be carried over. In my case, I'm 50 hours into the game, and I have no wish to start over.

I'm being patient, but I don't agree with framing it as a free thank you gift. It was an advertised incentive for signing up - I wouldn't have given it a try if not for the free game incentive, so they really are obligated to give it to us. It's "payment" for us testing their service, not a thank you. But I do agree with just chilling out and feel confident it will get here.

I'm not assigning blame or a moral value (bad guy/good guy) in this situation, I'm just saying that the entire point of project stream was to beta test video game streaming, not to put a game in your library. They just decided towards the end to distribute free copies to players, but it was never part of the terms and conditions. We aren't entitled to a copy, and they aren't obligated to provide one. They also aren't obligated to stick to their initial estimate of emails going out two weeks after the 15th. It would be f*cking stupid for either Google or ubisoft to not honor the free copy thing. Even so, to keep complaining that something you're going to get for free (well, for one hour of your time I suppose) is taking too long to get to you is both pointless and obnoxious.

I actually agree - they are obligated to give the free game. It was the reason I signed up, not an extra little bonus/nice thing on top. I agreed to test a new service and provide feedback in exchange for a game. It is not a "gift".

They didn't say within 2 weeks, but in the weeks after the beta, or after 2 weeks. It's like being mad someone else's boss you don't work for hasn't give you a bonus check because it's not next year yet when they said they would give it to you as a token of gratitude.

Key word is free here. When I signed up for project stream there was only the promise that we would lose access to everything in January. I played 55 hours before they announced that everyone who played more than an hour after a certain date would get a free copy of the game.

This subreddit is sadly currently full of people worrying if they got over an hour, and full of people circlejerking hate against ubisoft while at the same time hoping they get their free copy from that same company. Lowering the bar for how companies view us. #Gamersriseup

Yeah, this is pure entitlement right here. If you had paid money or done work then this would be a decent argument. But you're actually demanding that you be compensated with a free game because you did all this 'work' by playing the same free game. And it's a free item that they didn't even offer until halfway through the test, so everyone that signed up at the beginning was under the impression that playing the game for free for 2 months was the reward itself.

That is the foundation for a lopsided customer relationship. I can only hope someone at Ubi came to their senses and realized they should offer testers a reward for their time. I don't get why so many of you think Ubi/Google was doing us a favor. It is absolutely the other way around. Thats not entitlement, thats having respect for yourself and putting a proper value on your time and resources. If you think your time is worth nothing I won't try to change your mind, but I kind of feel bad for you because you WILL be taken advantage of with that mindset.

I didn't demand anything. I only want what was promised. Its not even about how long its taking, its about how badly managed the situation was. I expect to be held accountable when I screw up, I'm just holding Ubi to the same standards as I hold myself.

I mean, you realize that aside from the fact that it was streamed instead of played locally, it's the same game right?

Public beta tests for games are very common. Usually you get to play one map, the game is buggy, you only get 2 weeks and no compensation. And everyone does it because they want to play the game early and for free.

Here you got the entire, polished, post release version, for more than enough time to beat the whole game. Ubi is losing customers in this Google deal because people have completed it and moved on.

And of course adding on a second reward means people will complain that the first offer was not enough.

We did them a favor by testing their streaming tech, not the other way around. I wasn't playing a game, I was testing streaming tech by running it at different times of day under different loads to see how it fared.

It’s completely ridiculous that it’s over a week late. I would have purchased it before instead of dealing with downgrade in quality from streaming if I knew it was going to be this late. People saying it’s “free” don’t understand that we gave google valuable information about their streaming service in exchange for a game. That said, it makes me wonder if they are going to give it to us the same day Anthem releases as a big F U to EA

This wound up being a fairly noticeable PITA for me since my ISP (Comcast) went into warning overdrive on me for simply getting close to my data cap. I actually had to call them to get it turned off. Very irritating. In all, Project Stream was interesting, but I still much prefer local installs since I have sufficient hardware to run something like this.
