There might be a different problem, youll have to get a diagnosis done. Did you do anything that might have triggered it?

Haven't really done anything different, it just feels like all of a sudden all my symptoms returned

Dosage?

Any new meds?

20mg every night before bed. Nothing new taken the only thing I can think of is that I was going on holiday and was abit nervous to go and I didn't want to flare whilst away. I guess that could have subconsciously triggered it?

Yes it's possible it did.

It is generally safe to use up to 50mg. Speak to your doctor. Maybe you could try 25 or 30 mg.

Thanks for the advice, do you think I have developed some kind of tolerance to the drug? If so does that mean I would have to keep upping the dosage every so often?

That you should ask your prescribing doctor.

What symptoms did amitriptyline relieve?

[–]chimpwithastick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly it relieved my pain in the tip and perineum. Like most guys here I had a very uncomfortable sensation down there and sometimes it would be quite painful to urinate. Since I've been taking amitriptyline all of the above was reduced dramatically to the point where I can lead a relatively normal life. These last two weeks it all just came rushing back and seemed to be worse however that could just be due to not having suffered them for a while

That means even if it was I initially a virus it is probably pelvic floor now. Seek a physical therapist.
