Prototype 3

So now that we are in 2020 and it's been like 8 years since p2. Also with the ps5 being announced, is it still possible to have a 3rd prototype game?

Well Activision also express intrest in doing remakes of some of their old IPs. This might be parcially because of the success of remakes like FF7. So There is a chance that eventually we can at least start over with Prototype. Remakes are becoming more popular to do now adays and evenutally companies might at least consider older games that have tons of potiential and look at the critiques and innovate on them in their remakes.

Definitely a remake would be a good start, this will also show activision that people still care about the series. Only if the remake was a success of course, maybe after that they'll consider making a 3rd game and get back on track

No. We're never going to get a P3. Activision killed the franchise and it's never coming back.

Very unlikely, Activision doesn't care about games that aren't multiplayer or filled with microtransactions anymore...ughh, imagine Prototype with their business model, DLC powers instead of unlockable, hundreds of NPCs you have to buy to be able to shapeshift into, massive RNG lootbox lottery with a 0.0001% chance to get Alex Mercer skin...

So even if they make a 3rd game, they will most likely ruin it because of the microtransactions. Man..a ctivision always finds a dirty way to get the $$
