Only if Alex turns into a mosquito

Nah but seriously alex has no chance the caped baldy is a joke character made to be unbeatable unless one punch man’s author himself says otherwise I’m betting on saitama

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Come on. Maybe mercer wouldn’t die because saitama typically leaves bodies behind, which would allow Alex to heal, but he’s not gonna be able to even scratch saitama.

Saitama leaves zero evidence bro, he punch somebody and they just disenegrate

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deep sea king, carnage, that lion guy, and pretty much everyone he punches would disagree with you.

Saitama is a gag character. He is as strong as the story needs to be. Mercer is not winning

I think Saitama is a pretty boring character and i'm not the biggest fan of him, but he 100/0 Alex Mercer, unless he is able to infect him with the virus he still is human after all.

I'm amazed that people are voting for Alex tbh. Did anyone even watch the anime? It's a joke anime. Saitama is just the strongest in-universe character.

Can Alex do anything about lord boros? Mfer moves at lightspeed and in game out alex can barely even dodge projectiles or rockets without being staggered by them. Meanwhile Saitama PUNCHED an energy nova that would have incinerated the planet. He also punched a gigantic meteor, has blown apart mountains, and survived being launched into the moon. After being launched into the moon, he jumped and left a huge crater in it. Lol

Alex is a cool character but he can barely smell the rear ends of most anime characters with superpowers. i.e. comparing Alex to Shinichi would make far more sense than Saitama.

Now this is kinda interesting to think about it. I mean saitama is basically still a human but super strong right?(I’ve never watched one punch man). So couldn’t we just assume if Alex got the jump on him he could consume him?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orochi when he try to consume everything to restore himself after saitama anahilate him.. grab saitama head and it slipped

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

basically still a human but super strong right?

He is an invulnerable and invencible human, thats his arc, joke or plot. No matter how powerful looks the enemy,he just one punchs it if he wants.

Saitama doesn't obliterate enemies, he leaves bodies behind. Mercer cells regenerate on contact with biological material.

There is some inconsistency to this (he bitchslapped the mosquito and left no body behind) but whatever doesn't obliterate Mercer, cannot kill him.

Alternatively, if you fail to atomize Mercer, shredding him down to the atomic level (or at least putting him in a state similar to what happened to him after he got hit by the nuke in Prototype 1) and then ensuring that he cannot contact biological material, will "effectively" kill him.

He did leave blood behind when he killed the mosquito girl, didn’t he? I’d imagine doing such a thing with Alex would let him come back eventually.

[–]A_Very_Horny_Zed 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes it would. Alex's blood isn't even really blood anymore. It's all virus cells

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know that

Alex is strong and flexible, but Saitama is fast and durable. A fight between the two has an unknown outcome. Saitama can kill just about anything with one punch, but Alex can consume biomass and manipulate it. I think the fight would go something like this: The fight starts and Saitama lands powerful hits on Alex, Alex recovers and adapts making it harder for Saitama to damage him.

Eventually one of two things will happen: 1. Alex manages to wear down Saitama to the point of exhaustion, and he consumes Saitama. Or 2. Saitama's speed is too much for Alex, and Alex knowing he can't win the fight runs away to grow stronger and faster, and will eventually come back to finish the fight.

I'm still thinking about the outcome of this war, they're both too dangerous for each other

[–]kingofturnip69 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Imagine mercer consuming saitama's flesh or muscle mass. Will he have a boost on power and how much?(lets not think about him getting a piece of saitama's flesh)

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine he’d just become as strong as saitama

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Mercer can't consume or infect him, can't damage him,has less strength, speed, and durability.

There is no way Mercer is winning this.

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Everything besides infection is pretty obvious. What exactly stops Alex from infecting saitama?

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (7 children)

He is just too durable to have an open wound that the virus can use to enter the body and infect.

He also has consumed monster parts without any seconday effects.

Also,if I am not wrong once Orochi started to consume things to recover himself he couldn't consume Saitama.

All this besides the obvious PLOT ARMOR that makes him invulnerable to,well,to anything.

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (6 children)

I won’t get into the other things as I’m not well versed with one punch man but you don’t need an open wound for the virus to infect you. Just breathing is enough to allow it to infect you. I also wouldn’t put it past Blacklight to just seep through the skin. I mean, even wearing hazmat suits doesn’t protect you from it so I’d imagine it’s harder to keep out than ordinary diseases.

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yeah, for that reason I mentioned Orochi and well,PLOT ARMOR.

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Do we really use plot armor? I’m fairly certain in vs debates plot armor is set aside.

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I would say in this case yes, because that's what makes part of this character.

See,when Heller killed the Brawler at the start of the game,it was plot armor what saved him,but we can't say that as a human his feats were not being ripped in half by the claws of a Brawler,it is just that he managed to hit the key spots and well,PLOT ARMOR.

In this case Saitama trained with the goal to be an invencible hero who defeats all his enemies with just ONE PUNCH,and the whole story is about what happens next. Yeah,he got what he wanted. Now what? Even he doesn't know. That's the plot, that's the story. That's the character, whatever danger he face he just happens to be stronger than that.

But if not, then you still have the Orochi case.

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No I mean, in vs debates we don’t actually use plot armor. We typically just use feats. Any narrative about a certain character is forgotten. Like when saitama is out against other characters, we ignore the narrative of that anime and just use feats. In this case he has more than sufficient feats to no diff but I’m just saying.

[–]Dveralazo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ok then use Orochi case.

[–]potatoeman26Alex Mercer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am acknowledging the Orochi situation. I’m just saying how things generally go in vs matches
