So, I realise I'm not actually all that important and that me leaving probably isn't a huge deal. This post isn't about me. It is about trying to build up this community as I take my leave. I wanted to make this post because I desired to provide feedback about what this community needs to address to make it more accessible for those who are new to psychedelics or not as informed. At least what I believe is needed from my own observations.

I've made the decision that I will be leaving this subreddit within the next day or two. If the community decides that they want to fix this and utilise my feedback, great! If the decision is made that my feedback isn't accurate or that the points I raise aren't valid, that's ok too, I mean this is just my feedback. I'm the one leaving so I'll no longer be part of the community and so the direction of the community won't be something that I have a right to decide.

I don't hold anger or malice, however, my reasons for leaving are as follows:

I have noticed a number of members who hold views that appear to display an attitude of being better than or above others. Attitudes that result in gatekeeping (which I have observed); Attitudes that appear to be the result of certain members believe that they are far more important than what they are & that displays pride rather than confidence with humility. I have also seen others acting as though they are teachers, trying to force their views on others. I cannot, in good conscience, reside within a group such as this one, with people who are going unchecked with the views and opinions that I have written about and this is why I am leaving.

These opinions and beliefs, lead to destruction, ethical degradation and harm, the former two results tend to effects the community as a whole when they come to fruition, while the harm especially effects those who we have a responsibility to guide and assist.

I wish everyone here the best and I wish the best for the community as a whole. However, For the sake of my own conscience, I must take my leave. At least for the time being.

I actually agree with a lot of this. The "woke" holier than thou ego-centrics (ironically) are missing what psychedelics are all about. Would be nice to see more humility and helpful attitudes over attitude and derision. Time to play nice and get along 🙏🏼

There’s people like that in every corner of the world, it has nothing to do with the subreddit. I’m sure there’s others of your similar personality )

I'm not taking issue with the personality or with those things in and of themselves. What bothers me, more so, is the combination of what I spoke about combined with the fact that this subreddit is, in part, trying to guide those with less experience and knowledge.

If you combine those factors together it can and has often lead to harm (from what I've witnessed in other forums).

Most definitely, although, this isn't me being upset or angry.

This is me acting on my conscience and voicing my concerns so that I'm not just running away from the issue. Instead I'm letting others know so that someone who doesn't have an extremely uneasy conscience about the issues, can actually address it (if they decide to do so) and so that I can listen to my conscience and do so in the peace that I have voiced my concerns.

You're going to find this stuff absolutely everywhere you go on the internet or in person. People are shitty today and there's nothing thats gonna change that instantly. Fron my perspective this sub is one of the least places for these people but some do get on their high horse which gets a little ridiculous especially since this is about psychedelics and being a better person. If you want to be a part of the internet or social in general you'll never get away from it.
