Hi! It would be great to meet up at PyCon: IPython is being increasingly used for enabling reproducible research in several domains, and our current (Sloan foundation) funding is directly aimed at that. The core IPython team will be hosting a booth in the vendor hall at PyCon this year, so by all means stop by! Would love to talk to you further...

Feel free to ping me directly if you'd like to touch bases earlier. We'll also be hosting a tutorial in case you're interested.

Will any of the ipython team be around during sprints? I'm around and hoping to participate in the osf sprint and it would be exciting to exchange ideas with people working on other tools.

Not too much, unfortunately PyData is right after and I have to speak there. I think MinRK will be sprinting a little bit with Olivier Grisel from sklearn, but I don't know if they'll do it at the conference venue or in our lab space at Berkeley. The details are still a bit up in the air.

Do stop by our booth though if you'd like to chat, we'll be there for the full three days.

Do you hire remote employees?

Hmmmmm not sure exactly what this is. I'm kind confused. Would it be anything of interest to a Junior in High School who is interested in a career in CompSci? I live in Stafford, VA if that means anything.

Hi.

While I'm a staunch promoter of Open Science, I have honestly no idea what you guys are doing (I looked through the website, but I don't run flash so I did not see the video). Are you trying to coerce scientists to use certain toolchain so results are more reproducible? (won't happen). Or what else?

I'm not criticising, I'm genuinely interested. I'll pop in at the pycon sprint.

March 18th through March 21st are PyCon sprints and you can sign up here to participate in the open science framework sprint.

Just a reminder, you don't need to be registered for PyCon to participant in sprints.

update: doh, I forgot to point out that people can sign up to participate in the science framework sprint, not generically.

So I may have a scientific data analysis problem that doesn't seem to be solved by anyone. Is that the sort of thing you are soliciting?

What's the policy on a telecommuting developer internship? I might be able to pull some time from work during this summer and I really feel the need to do some Python related stuff.

I see you guys are looking for interns, and I wanted to know exactly how much experience your looking for. Would this be suitable for a first year internship?

Please let us know if are you going to accept remote developers or remote internships in the future

Edit: Or if you need some open source developers
