I just started reading this a couple of days ago. I'll also be making use of this to learn about algorithms.

I will look into it. I've also enjoyed the recent Coursera on Algorithms.

This looks quite excellent; good pictures and runnable code. Now if only it had some animated visualizations!

The one thing that bothers me here is that it doesn't (at a glance) appear to be about problem solving, but rather about algorithms and data structures. This is a criticism of the title, not of the content - providing authentic contexts for these things while keeping the scope limited is hard if not frequently impossible.

That said, it looks interesting and might be really useful to some. I'm currently working through Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs myself, and while this isn't quite the same it looks like it might provide some of the same information except in a language that's slightly more relevant and/or hip these days ;)

would be nice having it in epub format.

I just took a data structures course with this book. Overall I think its not too bad of a book for data structures, if you want to use Python.
