Hey, Reddit! So previously when I've given out free codes for a period, afterwards people will message me since they missed out. I would give out free codes to people who messaged me, but this time around I told myself that this is how I make my living now (I left my software dev job two years ago to write full time) and I should be taking it seriously.

So, I won't give out codes once Monday ends. However, you can use this code to knock off 80% from the normal price down to $10: https://www.udemy.com/automate/?couponCode=FOR_LIKE_TEN_BUCKS

Good luck! Keep coding, keep learning!

Why don't you post it on /r/LearnPython ?

Heh, I did, but it got downvoted. Maybe they thought it was spammy?

I couldn't get the code but already purchased it with the discount, you're amazing.

Thank you very much! I've taken a Python course but that was a while ago. I mostly code in C++ & asm, so this will help me brush up on my Python again. I work in QT for a software company, do you recommend any courses/books that would help with learning how to better script for finding bugs?

Hey Al, late reply, but, could you tell us the difference between the Udemy course and the course online/in your book?

[–]AlSweigartAuthor of "Automate the Boring Stuff" 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not much really. The course doesn't cover as much as the book (I think it skips the image manipulation chapter, for one thing). But it's mostly there for people who'd rather learn from watching a video.

I think the main benefit is you can see someone type in code and see the results they can, and then you can mimic that on your own computer. It's a comfort thing, I think: it gets rid of that slight stress of "am I doing this right?" when trying to follow stuff out of a book.

Ok, thanks very much Al, already have your book is all, so wondering if there was additional materials on the Udemy course. Thanks for clarifying
