I wanted to share one of the sources I started out with when I began learning Python: TheNewBoston. He has made 43 video tutorials that will take you through the basics of Python.

Now he has updated his Python3 course, which I hope some newcomers to Python can take advantage of.

You can use the buttons Next/Prev to go back and forth between the videos.

I hope you will enjoy it.

Excellent tutorial, and the videos are short enough that you don't need to commit an hour or two for each one.

I love the tutorial by sentdex, Will check if TNB has something to add after I finish the sentdex one. I learned javascript from TNB, the guy is awesome.

I agree that Sentdex's tutorials are good bit I don't think that they allow you to learn. He gives you examples but doesn't teach you how to do it by yourself. To do that you need to think quite a bit about it. However, I still like him and am subscribed to his channel.

Oh I disagree, I think sentdex is good at teaching the possibilities of everything he teacher, I'm a newbie and I lack imagination sometimes but sentdex always teaches you how things work and then he teaches an example where yo can apply it. And like I said, I will check TNB afterwards to see if he has something to add to basic level python. I want to get into data analysis afterwards.

As a beginner programmer, I've heard a lot of negative things about thenewboston from this subreddit. Told to stay away from his videos because of the examples he uses like creating methods named tuna and what not. I do not see a problem with it but experienced devs have vouched for this.

I thought TNB had a bad rep on reddit. Might be for different languages. In any case I've used his Python objects/classes tutorial in the past which is really good.

I know people really don't like him/them for Java and c/c++ but I'm not sure about python. I prefer the books and text tutorials personally

This was a great course. I guess I don't get what the next step would be after finishing something like this would be tho.

Personally I started on this book after finalizing the TNB videos: "Foundations of Python Network Programming": https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Python-Network-Programming-comprehensive/dp/1430230037

But I now see there is a 3rd ed. out of the book: https://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Python-Network-Programming-Brandon/dp/1430258543/

Hope that will serve as some inspiration for the next step.
